Description
The Owl is an original owl painting created with mixed media, inspired by the quiet atmosphere of nature after dark.
At the centre of the painting, an expressive owl appears against a large, silvery moon.
Its dark feathers and steady gaze stand out against the warm earthy tones of brown, ochre and golden yellow, creating a striking contrast between darkness and light. Energetic brushstrokes give movement to the owl and the surrounding landscape, while the moon creates a softer, quieter space behind it.
I wanted the owl to feel present rather than simply depicted — alert, still and completely at home in the night. There is something both mysterious and grounding about meeting an owl in the darkness, when the world becomes quieter and the details of nature begin to change.
The combination of wildlife, moonlight and warm natural colours gives The Owl a distinctive presence. It can bring character, atmosphere and a connection to nature into a living room, reading space, bedroom, office or other quiet interior.
