‘Emerald Glow’ is an original acrylic and oil pastel painting celebrating the quiet strength and beauty of the thistle – a flower that is often overlooked or described as a weed.
The thistle does not need to be picked to prove that it is beautiful. It simply stands where it belongs, unfolding its delicate flower while protecting itself with the thorns that surround it.
There is something deeply beautiful in that balance.
The flower opens and shows its beauty, while at the same time creating a boundary around itself. Its thorns give it the space it needs to remain untouched and to grow on its own terms.
‘Emerald Glow’ became a reflection on self-care and self-respect – on the importance of protecting what is precious without hiding it.
