‘Quiet Horizon IX’ is an original acrylic painting on canvas from Bodil Greiner’s Quiet Horizon series.

The painting explores the quiet strength of holding on through turbulent periods — and the possibility of seeing light, hope and new opportunities even when the horizon is still partly hidden.

But Quiet Horizon IX is also created to become part of the space around you.

Quiet Horizon IX – Light Beyond the Storm

There are periods in life when everything can feel turbulent.

Quiet Horizon IX grew from the feeling of standing in the middle of such a moment — not knowing exactly what lies beyond it, but choosing to keep looking.

The storm in this painting is powerful, yet strangely quiet. There is movement in the clouds and energy in the lightning, but there is also stillness in the sea. And at the heart of the darkness, the sky begins to open.

That opening became important to me.

Even in difficult or uncertain periods, something can begin to appear that you could not see before. A possibility. A new direction. A different way forward. Sometimes it is not something you expected at all.

The mist lying across the horizon suggests possibilities that have not yet fully revealed themselves. You cannot see everything yet — but you can sense that something is there.

The light breaking through the clouds becomes a reminder to look beyond limitations. To hold on when things are turbulent. To remain open to what might emerge rather than deciding too quickly that the darkness is all there is.

And there is another side to darkness too.

Storms can create a strange kind of quiet. They can make you stop. They can give you space to think, feel and notice things that are easily overlooked when everything around you is moving quickly.

In that sense, Quiet Horizon IX is not only about getting through the storm. It is also about what can happen while you are there — the reflection, depth and inner development that can grow in periods of uncertainty.
