Season VII – Unity

Season VII – Unity is an original acrylic painting inspired by connection, togetherness and the quiet strength found in nature.

The birch trees stand close together, their roots connecting beneath the surface while their branches reach towards one another above. Yet each tree still has its own space. The painting reflects the idea that true unity does not mean becoming the same — it means being connected while allowing room for individuality.

Light moves through and behind the trees, creating a sense of depth and reminding us that connection can exist even where it is not immediately visible.

Description

Season VII – Unity is an original acrylic painting exploring the quiet strength of connection and togetherness.

The painting depicts a group of birch trees standing closely together. Beneath the surface, their roots form an unseen network of connection, while above ground their branches reach towards and intertwine with one another. They support and relate to each other without taking away the space of the individual tree.

This became the central idea behind Unity: we can belong together without losing ourselves.

The birch trunks were created using a unique crackle-paste technique, giving their surfaces a naturally weathered and textured appearance. Fine cracks run through the trunks, and each individual crack has been carefully painted into with a pipette, allowing colour to settle into the smallest details. From a distance, the texture creates the impression of natural birch bark; up close, the intricate surface reveals another layer of the artwork.

Light is present both within and behind the trees, creating depth between the trunks and drawing the viewer further into the forest. The contrast between the solid trees, the delicate branches and the light behind them gives the painting a quiet sense of movement and connection.

Season VII – Unity is part of the Seasons series, where nature becomes a way of exploring human experiences, emotions and relationships.

This original artwork brings a sense of warmth, depth and quiet reflection into the home. It can be displayed as a statement piece in a living room, hallway, office or other space where its details can be experienced both from a distance and up close.
