The story behind the Artwork
A Story of Spring, Stillness and Reflection.
Vera’s next Chapter was inspired by the quiet beauty of spring and the peaceful moments we create when we allow ourselves to slow down. While working on this drawing, I often thought about the simple pleasure of sitting beneath blossoming trees with time for a good book and no destination beyond the present moment.
The flowering cherry tree was inspired by the beautiful cherry avenue at Bispebjerg Cemetery in Copenhagen, where thousands of blossoms transform the landscape each spring. Their delicate colours and gentle atmosphere became an important source of inspiration for this original fineliner artwork.
Vera – A Quiet Moment Beneath the Blossoms.
Vera represents calm, presence and quiet reflection. She sits beneath the flowering cherry tree, surrounded by soft pink blossoms that symbolise hope, warmth and the gentle arrival of spring. The blossoms almost seem to fall around her, creating a peacuful space where time slows down.
The open book carries no written words. It is intentionally left blank, inviting you to imagine your own story, memories or dreams. Rather than telling every detail, the artwork leaves space for personal interpretation, allowing the story to continue beyond the drawing itself.
